Secrets and mysteries are the mainspring of my life.
I yearn for them and seek them out.

Art is like a dream; it helps us give shape to our emotions and experiences.
We need art in the same way as we need dreams.
Emotion needs to be expressed: art has an imported role to play in this.

By definition the visual arts deal with images, the beauty of the image. in the same way music treats sound.
Beauty or ugliness are not really relevant.
Nobody says: 'Grass is so ugly' or: 'Water is so ugly'.
I want to make things that are not only as beautiful and complex as grass and water but also have their clarity.

The choice of the medium is down to the sole of the artist.
My choice is for textiles: I feel at home with them.
I feel I can best achieve what I intend with textiles.

The works are made using the jacquard weaving technique whereby designs and colours are created by the binding system and are therefore woven-in.
